She expressed how he was ‘taken from us far too soon’ and thanked everyone – both his fans and those in the entertainment industry – for their ‘overwhelming love, support, and beautiful stories.’

“I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them. And to the thousands of Destiny (video game) players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game,” she wrote in the Instagram caption, sharing several photos of Lance Reddick. Reddick had roles in CSI: Miami and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit before receiving his big break in Season 4 of Oz. One year later, he was cast as Cedric Daniels in The Wire and eventually earned main roles in Fringe (2008-2013) and Bosch (2014-2021). He made appearances in dozens of other TV shows.

As for film, he is best known for his role as Charon in the John Wick franchise – appearing in the first three films, as well as the fourth, which is set to release on March 24, 2023. He also made appearances in One Night in Miami, The Domestics, White House Down, Monster Party, and Angel Has Fallen.

Lance Reddick is one of the most respected actors in Hollywood – evidenced by the many actors, directors, and content platforms that have paid tribute to the late actor. His career as an actor dates back to 1983 and he continued to master his craft for 40 years. In fact, he had so much more left to give.

In addition to John Wick: Chapter 4, which is set to release in just a week, Reddick had several other projects in the works at the time of his death. For example, he was working on four other films when he died – including Shirley, White Men Can’t Jump (remake), Ballerina, and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial.

Not only that, but he was working on Season 2 of Farzar, which is set to release in July 2023, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians – he was cast as Zeus and the show is set for a 2024 premiere. Reddick loved what we did and he was good at it. His unique abilities will be missed in the entertainment industry.

“I’m an artist at heart. I feel that I’m very good at what I do. When I went to drama school, I knew I was at least as talented as other students, but because I was a Black man and I wasn’t pretty, I knew I would have to work my butt off to be the best that I would be, and to be noticed,” he said in a 2009 interview.
